In view of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Canada Soccer and Ontario Soccer have directed that all sanctioned soccer activities cease until further notice.
Dear Bracebridge SC members:
We hope that you and your families are staying safe and well during this challenging time for all of us.
As the season has turned to spring, we know that there are many keen soccer players of all ages in our community that are looking forward to playing the sport we all love as soon as we can.
I am writing to share an update on our hopes to have outdoor soccer activities in the upcoming months. Your club's Executive team has been closely monitoring and taking direction from our governing bodies, public health and Ontario Soccer to appropriately plan for the future.
At this time, our governing sport body, Ontario Soccer, is managing activities on a month-to-month basis, with a view to being able to resume league play and other activities as soon as possible. At this time, there are enhanced online opportunities for coaches and referees to continue to obtain their accreditation, and other resources to learn more about soccer in Canada and Ontario. These resources are available at https://www.ontariosoccer.net/
Closer to home a small group of club volunteers continues to work on enhancing our policies and procedures heralding recognition from Ontario Soccer as a Quality Service Provider under the Canada Soccer Club Licensing Program. We are aiming to have these in place when play resumes. They will also be available on our website.
In addition, we are mindful that programs may take place in a slightly different timeframe than has occurred in previous years or may be of shorter duration. Work is being done on modified season schedules and we will communicate start dates and program options when they are confirmed.
At this time, our online registration remains open and is available anytime at www.bracebridgesoccer.ca for all outdoor programs at the "early-bird" rates. Please note that in the event of program changes or being unable to offer soccer activities this outdoor season, we will provide details on possible fee adjustments, full refunds for the cancellation of programs or credits towards future programs.
As a not-for-profit community service provider affiliated with Ontario Soccer, we sincerely appreciate your support and understanding in this current environment.
We expect to be able to provide further updates on the 2020 outdoor season towards the end of April at the latest, and will do so earlier should new information become available.
We look forward to the opportunity to see everyone playing soccer at Gostick Park again in the near future.
